What is included in the workshop price will vary depending on the type of workshop. A description of what is included is provided on the webpage for each workshop. If you have any questions after reviewing the description on the workshop webpage, please, contact us.
Yes! All skill levels are welcome on our photography workshops. Also, the bird workshops are designed for those who are interested in birding and / or photography. Some workshops can also be enjoyed with just a cell phone. Contact us for questions regarding specific workshops
Due to the fact that we must make travel arrangements, book accommodations, reserve excursions, acquire necessary permits, etc… for each workshop, our general workshop cancellation policy is as follows:

You are solely responsible for any and all costs arising out of your voluntary or involuntary withdrawal from the Workshop prior to its completion, including withdrawal caused by illness. Trip/travel insurance is recommended.
Each attendee is responsible for all additional costs including, but not limited to, travel, lodging, and transportation before and after the Workshop; meals not included in the Workshop; other incidentals; trip/travel insurance.
Workshop payments are non-refundable. No refund will be issued if you withdraw from the Workshop. Trip/travel insurance is recommended. Barry Spruce Photography, LLC is not responsible for cancellations or Workshop schedule changes due to events outside of Barry Spruce Photography, LLC’s control such as local, State, Federal or other governing body shutdowns, travel restrictions/bans, civil unrest, labor disturbances, natural disasters, etc. Refunds will not be issued should such events occur; however, we will work with Workshop participants to reschedule to a new date or provide full credit to join another Workshop. Barry Spruce Photography, LLC is not responsible for reimbursement of any travel expenses or other related expenses in the event of Workshop cancellation or rescheduling. In the unlikely event that Barry Spruce Photography, LLC cancels the Workshop for reasons within Barry Spruce Photography, LLC’s control and does not reschedule it, a full refund of the Workshop fee/deposit will be given. Barry Spruce Photography, LLC reserves the right to cancel the Workshop in the event that there are not enough participants registered.
Barry Spruce is the guide for the workshops that are conducted in Florida, New England, and the Smoky Mountains. Barry has extensive experience in photographing nature and wildlife and in guiding. The Jackson Hole and Grand Teton and the Alaska Brown Bear Experience workshops have 2 guides – Barry Spruce and Mary Jo Cox. Mary Jo is an experienced bear and wildlife photographer and guide. Barry and Mary Jo are teaming up to lead the workshops to the Grand Tetons and Alaska.
Most of our workshops have a maximum of 4 or 5 participants with one guide. The specific number is listed with the description of each workshop. The small number allows for one-on-one instruction. The Jackson Hole and Grand Teton workshop and the Alaska Brown Bear Experience workshop have a maximum of 10 participants and 2 guides.
For vehicle comfort and successfully photographing wildlife, 3 individuals maximum on our Smoky Mountain guided tours. These are private tours which are customized for you (or your small group). If you have a larger group and would like to schedule a private guided tour, please, contact us.
Townsend has numerous options for lodging including family owned hotels, cabin / house rentals, camping, and a Best Western.
